  • Provide and maintain the Service
  • Create and manage your account
  • Enable team collaboration and sharing features

  • Send important service updates and security alerts

  • With your team members: Your name, profile picture, and wine ratings are visible to members of teams you join
  • Service providers: We use third-party services to operate our infrastructure (see Section 5)

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate tasting.team:

  • Supabase: Authentication, database, and file storage (hosted in secure cloud infrastructure)
  • Expo Push Notifications: Delivering push notifications to your device
  • Google/Apple Sign-In: Optional authentication providers

These services have their own privacy policies governing their use of your data.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and security practices. We use Supabase for our backend infrastructure, which provides enterprise-grade security including encrypted connections, secure authentication, and regular security audits. While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: View your personal data through the app settings
  • Update: Modify your profile information at any time
  • Delete: Request deletion of your account and associated data. Delete your account here
  • Export: Request a copy of your data
  • Opt-out: Disable push notifications through your device settings

8. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time through the in-app settings or by visiting our website at tasting.team/delete-account.

The deletion process works as follows:

  1. Submit your email address on the account deletion page
  2. Receive a verification email to confirm your identity
  3. Click the confirmation link to permanently delete your account

Upon deletion, the following data is permanently removed: your account credentials, scores and ratings, team memberships, and push notification tokens.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes.

10. Children's Privacy

tasting.team is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a user under 18, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us.

11. Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or extensive tracking. The mobile app stores authentication tokens locally on your device for session persistence.

12. International Users

Our Service is hosted in the European Union. If you are accessing the Service from outside the European Union, please be aware that your information is stored and processed within the EU.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the app or sending you an email. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
